GR-IoT is an internet of things knowledge hub oriented in technological research for Internet of Things technologies. Main pillars of this try are the “Ecology” and “Open-Source philosophy” by using environmentally friendly technologies and providing low energy consumption solutions.
The GR-IoT team was founded in 2015 in Athens, when people from various professional sectors discovered that they share a common vision. Creating a hub for research and development of technology related to a new at that time trend called “Internet of Things” (IoT). This hub was agreed to have as its main purpose the training of its members through continuous scientific and technological research and exchange of know-how related to the wider field of the “Internet of Things”.
The strategic axes of GR-IoT hub so far are:
• Design and create original hardware and software
• Development of open technologies, such as the world’s first open network “IoT”, “The Things Network”, which deals with development through the Athenian community.
• Voluntary offering and group action, through quality meetings and actions, enhance the development of innovative ideas.
Innovation
The group’s differentiation is based on two main pillars:
Ecology through the use of technologies that are environmentally friendly, have the least possible energy consumption, consist of ecological materials and create solutions that cover needs with low cost of acquisition and operation.
&
The openness through which the technology it develops is and will remain open in the future, thus creating the right environment for continuous development and improvement through cooperation.
Collaborations
The team is constantly networking to create partnerships that will help all parties evolve and spread their technologies in the most efficient way. Indicatively, some of them are:
